The Professionals and Libraries version includes two components. The first component is the DVD video. The second component is a CD-ROM that contains a presenter's guide for use with the DVD.
COMPONENT ONE: DVD
A comprehensive 75-minute DVD that will help you guide your students to success at the colleges of their choice.
The DVD presents interviews with leading national experts, students, and their parents. It is divided into eight informative sections.
Section One: Know Thyself
This section helps students develop awareness of their strengths and weaknesses as learners as well as the strategies that they used to succeed through the school years.
Section Two: The Continuum of Support
This section covers the accommodations and different types of support available in college, including services that colleges must provide for students with a documented learning disability.
Section Three: Portraits of Programs for Students with Learning Challenges
This section presents profiles of colleges that provide comprehensive programs for students with learning challenges. These programs go far beyond the accommodations and support services required by law.
Section Four: How Much Support Do You Need?
This section identifies the important differences between high school and college, and the kinds of academic and social support your students might need because of these differences.
Section Five: Shopping for Colleges
This section covers the steps to follow to make the best college choices for your students.
Section Six: When and How to Disclose
This section presents guidelines for when students should disclose their her learning disabilities and in what manner. The important point that colleges are not required to provide accommodations or support services unless a student discloses his or her learning disability is discussed.
Section Seven: Strategies for Success
This section identifies the strategies that have helped countless students with learning challenges succeed in college.
Section Eight: Parenting Into College
This section familiarizes parents with their role during their child's college search and application process.

ABOUT MONICA ANDREWS
Dr. Andrews works with students with learning challenges on both sides of the transition from high school to college - - as a director of learning support, teacher trainer on learning differences, and consultant to families in the college search process. Monica earned her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Harvard University, and for more than 20 years has worked to help students succeed in college.
