Student Activity Book
Designed for students in grades four to eight. The activities can also be used with high school students who have poor writing skills, as well as special needs students from fourth grade on.
The skills covered are consistent with state language arts curricula standards and competency tests.
The student activity book contains 48 sequential activities in which students are taught how to use and apply the TAGO+S Strategy to write fiction and nonfiction stories.
T = Select a Topic about which to write.
A = Decide upon the Audience.
G = Gather the information needed to write the story from reference books, the Internet, and people.
O = Organize the story using a Story Map by setting, characters, problem, goals, action, and solution.
+S = Write the Story from either the first person point of view or the third person point of view.
All activities require extensive writing. Lined space is provided on the back of each activity page for additional writing. The plastic coil-bound format allows students to tear out an activity page to hand in while leaving all other activity pages intact.
