Illinois Law to Stop Cyberbullying by Invading Students' Privacy
A new, controversial law in Illinois offers schools access to their students' social media accounts in an effort to put a stop to cyberbullying. Prior to the law, schools could only take action after an instance of such bullying had occurred. The new law gives schools the right to require students of provide their social media passwords. Schools now have the right to access a student's account even if apparent cyberbullying occurrs after school hours.
