ONLINE STUDY SKILLS CURRICULUM
For Individuals
As an individual student, you use Component A (Assessment) of the curriculum to evaluate your instructional needs, and Component B (Instruction) to meet your instructional needs. You can use 3S on your own or under the supervision of a teacher, tutor, or other education professional.
Component A - Assessment
The 3S assessment contains 70 items that require you to indicate your use of the study skills and strategies that are taught in the curriculum.
A Narrative Report is automatically generated when you complete an assessment. The report describes each of the study skills and strategies units. For each unit, your score is reported along with one of three instructional recommendations: need instruction, need review, need no instruction. A hyperlink to instruction is provided for any unit for which you need review or instruction. You may take the assessment any number of times. This allows you to evaluate and monitor your progress and needs. The results for each administration are stored and can be retrieved and printed at any time.
Component B - Instruction
Each of the five units of instruction includes multiple interactive screens. The following learning model is used. First, you are introduced to the strategy or skill. Second, you are shown examples of how the strategy or skill is used. Third, you practice the use of the strategy or skill. During this practice, you are required to type responses in text fields that are provided. Pop-up screens provide feedback throughout your practice activities. Each sequence of instruction concludes with an optional application activity in which you apply the skill or strategy to your actual class work.
You can retrieve and print a Narrative Report for each time you take the assessment. You can also email the report to a teacher, tutor, or other education professional directly from the curriculum site.
Each application activity you complete is listed. You can print these completed activities in their entirety. You can also email any of these activities to a teacher, tutor, or other education professional directly from the curriculum site.

You can purchase use of Components A and B of 3S for a six month period. The cost of 3S for six months is $14.95. There is no shipping and handling charge. When you purchase 3S, within 24 to 48 hours you will receive an email containing your personal access code and directions for using the curriculum.
